being a sheltered dragon pup to royal ueen in waiting Another relationship that was uniue was a sheltered dragon pup to royal ueen in waiting Another relationship that was "uniue was s father s relationship to his rider Ja Hua Ja "was s father s relationship to his rider Ja Hua Ja was the only human the king trusted Their bond was so strong through magic that it times you couldn t help but wonder if they could live normally without the other Although these two were the villains their relationship showed that there is strength when humans and dragons collaborate this was also shown through Agne s relationship with Zhao Even though there was a dragon monarch humans were still important to this nationWithout giving the story away I will say overall I became engrossed in to each turning page This was a story full of secrets Those secrets were dividing a nation and killing the nation s people Princess Agne was the key to fixing that She was no longer her daddy s dolly she was the fighter of ustice for her nation Through the Metropolis XXX journey we learn about Agne s mothers secrets the truth about how vicious her father was and who actually loved and supported her I would give this a 45 out of 5 starsInfo about the bookTitle The Lilac Princess and the Blood KingAuthor Karine GreenPrint Length 199 pagesPublisher Green Dragon March 20 2017Where to buy I uite enjoyed reading this book It was fast paced with a likeable protagonist at its centre even without her ability to use her dragon magic on me to make me like her I was fond of her from the beginning In terms of world building the world in this book reminds me a bit of ATLA meets Avatar think the scene where they bond with the dragon like creatures there are elemental dragons magical humans also with elemental powers and the bond between a dragon and their rider the dragon chooses their rider With this vivid world as a backdrop we re introduced to Agne an adolescent dragon who is taken out of her castle and for the first time ever learns of the ugly truth behind her parents rule and her past imprisonment as her father s doll The plot is fast paced and there are revelations about Agne s parents at every turn as she learns about h Fantastic Really enjoyed this The writing was really good and the character development was fantastic What an immense world the author has built Karine Green s dragons are intelligent beings who do manicures and tea parties They also train humans to be riders and live fairly harmoniously with humans except when they don t and then it turns bad very uicklyI really liked Agne Accepting that the parents she loved and who had shown her so much love were not who she thought them to be was her rite of passage Acknowledging that she had no recourse but to overthrow a murderous king who happened to be her father wasust the first of hard choices that leaders are expected to make I loved this story Dedicated to those who ignore the odds this is a fairy tale of courage loss forgiveness and growt. Y she realizes the rebels want her to help them with a coup Unbeknownst to her another coup is in the works She has to unite the two sides to save her nation.
characters ☆ PDF, DOC, TXT or eBook ✓ Karine GreenI found the concept very interesting yet i feel like it lacked emotion I like the idea of having the story told through the eyes of the dragons instead of the humans Its a different that what i had read before and would have loved to enjoyed this book but it was ust missing that something in my opinion that made me not love this book I found it hard to get into the world it was hard for me to connect to any of the characters This fantasy novel is a magical delight for all agesI was pulled into this book by my love for dragons and a supergirl but stayed for the wonderful writing and engaging characters This book is appealing to not only upper elementary students but older students and adults alike The mystery of where dragons originated will excite those who enjoy mysteries the residing inland of Shestafa will pull in those who enjoy the supe Dragons are often side characters in fantasy novels so it was fun to read a novel with them as the main characters Both a compelling story and beautiful and intriguing world were built with simple writing Dragons in literature have rarely received a decent and fresh take So often such as with what Tolkien or even George RR Martin they are considered weapons of mass destruction and in most cases downright evil things Other than Falcore Pete s Dragon or Puff the Magic Dragon rarely does anyone even consider what to do with a dragon outside of the flying
flame thrower routine Occasionally you get the flamethrower with a money hording monster thing akin This is a charmingthrower routine Occasionally you get the flamethrower with a money hording monster thing akin This is a charming about a dragon princess Agne an air and fire dragon who is raised pampered the castle where her apparently living parents rule over the realm of Shestafa The day of her 15th birthday she is kidnapped by a human where her ourney of knowing the truth about her parents and their cruelty towards their subjects The plot is very intriguing from the beginning to the end and I think it s a uniue story considering that the main characters are dragons For me as a dragon lover it has been an interesting experience The characters are well described very lively and there are no slow parts in the story Received this book for an honest review from Book Tasters When I first got a copy of the Lilac Princess and the Blood King I was not uite sure what I was expecting The title had a very fantasy feel to it but the cover hinted at something science fiction Upon delving in I found the book uite enjoyable and interestingWithout giving too much away the story turned out to be an entertaining book about dragons and their relationship with humans in a direction that I have never seen before It brought a blend of humor while showing that the world that Karen Greene has created is filled with possibility that this book containsFor dragon lovers and those who enjoy fantasy I would recommend this book heartily I received this book free via BooktastersThe Lilac Princess and the Blood King was a book full of suspense and action There was not one page in the book that made. In the far away land of Shestafa dragons rule the realm The Air Dragon Agne lives the charmed life of a pampered princess Her father the Blood King is an evi. Me lose hope in the storyline In simplest terms it was good Agne the lilac princess is the rarest dragon in the kingdom But before we
GET TO HER LET S DELVEto her let s delve little into the kingdom itself The kingdom is ruled by a dragon monarch Magical and non magical humans live within the outer regions of north dragons ridge along to with dragons Humans can be trained to become dragon riders and be a friendly companion to their dragon counterpart This was the first novel I have read where actual dragons held the throne and weren t written to be shifters of any sort This alone began my interest of the storyline Agne the crown princess is envied by her sisters because they all know she is the only one her father can view as being ueen one day A plot to kidnap her works but backfires
when spolier they meet their end through theirSPOLIER they meet their end through their father s claw This begins a wild chase to find the princess Here is the interesting part of the story that I was not initially expecting everyone was in their own coup to either help or hurt Agne Agne was the only one not in the loop of things Her good sheltered nature shed some naivety on her but her training and education helped her be poised and pick up on cues other sheltered dragons may have not been taught to do I loved where Karine went with Agne We are introduced to Agne as a prized princess who was sheltered her whole life and has only been seen by a handful of people To many she is a rumor and is nonexistent to others she is this vile dragon that was created based on the nasty lies her sisters spewed of her However Agne is a gentle and intelligent soul that becomes clever as her A Study in Scarlet (Sherlock Holmes, journey to go back home and save her country bears onto her Her growth in character also allows us to see pass her naivety it brings light that she can shed the childness in her to be able to be a regal adult Karine green does this in a way where it doesn t feel rushed and it allows the reader to realize that Agne was thanust her precious color and her tea parties The one thing that I felt was lacking in the story was the world building During different points cities and countries are mentioned but there wasn t a way to fully visualize them because there was no description past the give name I am person who enjoys a good balance of character and world building so I was a little disappointed but will note that thus lack with world building didn t affect what the author wanted the reader to grasp from the story Overall the characters were great but I will say that Zhao was by far my favorite in growth We meet Zhao as a vengeful magical human who kidnaps princess Agne in order to receive ustice for his people order to receive ustice for his people his ourney with princess Agne it is shown that he has been through so much struggle Fit is clear that Zhao is holding onto to all of this Zhao also is the one being that truly shows compassion love and loyalty to Agne This is pretty strange because their relationship began as kidnapper and kidnaped but it becomes interesting to see that Zhao s L Fire dragon who lays waste to innocent villages A small band of rebels kidnap the princess and show her the truth As she comes to terms with her new realit.
